Veteran actor Nasser has designed a one-year course in acting for a new breed of actors Actor Nasser, who has over three decades of experience, has always been passionate about teaching. When he gets time, the seasoned actor conducts workshops to coach young artistes. Now, he has come up with a one-year course in acting, which he has conceptualised, researched and structured. The course will be offered by Rajiv Menon’s Mindscreen Film Institute. The veteran firmly believes that with changing times, the industry requires a new breed of actors. “Cinema has changed. Acting is not just about the ability to deliver dialogues, melodrama, sword fighting skills or dancing skills. Acting is entirely different,” says Nasser. Swapnil’s cinematography emphasizes the jungle’s dusty tones and finds interesting vantage points to capture the action from, using some visually appealing wide-angle shots. Swapnil Sonawane, the cinematographer, chose to shoot the film in natural light so as to make it look real. Great care had to be taken to shoot scenes at the right time. A fair amount of research went there as well – in choosing the right camera and lenses. A chance to live many lives Actors or performers are the embodiment of a film as they are the ones who appear in the physical form on screen. They interpret the script, bring characters to life and need to be extremely adaptable. They must also have a good voice, a strong sense of expression and be able to transform gestures and emotions. Finally, they should be capable of imitating life and relationships. While preparing students for films, television, theatre, and voice-over, the course teaches script interpretation, characterization, diction, basic techniques, movement, observation, improvisation, role analysis, technique of makeup and basic ideas about costumes.
